AI limits and fair use.
Plus includes Ponder’s AI: Ask Ponder, AI hints and more. Here’s exactly how much each learner gets, how family and school ceilings work, and when limits reset. Essentials has no AI, so none of this applies to it.
The limits
Plus includes Ponder’s AI features, with generous limits for each learner so everyone gets a fair share. Essentials has no AI features, so no limits apply to it. Practice sets, written hints, games and progress are never limited on either tier.

A dash means there’s no separate limit for that period; the other limits still apply.
Family and school ceilings
Each learner has their own limits, and the whole account also has a monthly ceiling, so a big household or school can’t multiply the use without limit. The ceiling for each feature is one learner’s monthly limit times the learners counted:
- Individual: 2 learners are counted (the grown-up and the learner), so Individual Plus gets 600 questions a month across the account.
- Family: every grown-up and child is counted, up to 6. Family Plus with 2 grown-ups and 2 children gets 1,200 questions a month across the family; with 6 or more people it’s 1,800 questions.
- School: half of the students are counted (at least 20), and teachers share the school’s ceiling. 100 students on Plus get 15,000 questions; 500 students on Plus get 75,000 questions a month across the school.

Short bursts
To keep things smooth for everyone, each learner can make up to 6 AI requests a minute. If someone goes faster, Ponder asks them to wait a moment.
When a limit is reached
Ponder shows a friendly message saying which limit was reached and when it resets. Nothing is lost, and everything in Essentials (practice sets with written hints, games, Ponder Quest and progress) keeps working as normal.
When limits reset
- Daily limits reset at midnight (Perth time).
- Weekly limits reset on Monday (Perth time).
- Monthly limits and account ceilings reset on the 1st of the month (Perth time).
Very busy times
If demand for AI across Ponder is very high, Ponder may pause AI features for a short while. Everything else keeps working, and AI comes back on its own.
